Installing the Software

WISroGIS requires Joomla 1.5/1.6/1.7 installed and running on your web server.

This article documents the installation process fo Joomla 1.5. Similar steps should be followed for Joomla 1.6/1.7 installation.

1. Download WISroGIS package
   Using the download details received after completing the purchase, download and save to your computer the WISroGIS package. Unzip the downloaded archive to a local folder.
   
   Please store the download details in a safe place since this will allow you to access free future updates for the software.
2. Login to your site's backend
   Login to the administrator section of your Joomla site using appropriate credentials (http://www.mysite.com/administrator/). Make sure your account has permissions to install and configure Joomla extensions. Use the menu option Extensions » Install/Uninstall to access the Extension Manager interface.
3. Install WISroGIS plugin
   Browse your local computer for previously extracted file plugin_WISroGIS.zip, then press the "Upload File & Install" button.
4. Install WISroGIS component
   Browse your local computer for com_WISroGIS.zip file, then press the "Upload File & Install" button.
   After the message "WISroGIS was installed" is displayed, follow the link to complete the component’s installation.
5. Install additional WISroGIS extensions: search bot and/or search module.
