Updating the WISro Yahoo Quotes component

The steps below describe the update procedure for WISro Yahoo Quotes Component from version 1.x/2.x to version 3.0.

Please note that since version 3.0 the component's uninstaller no longer removes the corresponding tables from the database, so these may be removed manually or future versions installed on top of them.

In order to complete the following update steps, both backend administrator access to your site and FTP transfer account with write permissions to the site's server are required.

Step 1:

Download version 3.0 using the download details from your previous version's purchase order, unzip the archive

Step 2:

Put the site offline, backup and remove all files from following directories

/administrator/components/com_wisroyq

/components/com_wisroyq

Step 3:

Extract the content ofthe archive com_WISroYQ.zip to a local folder 

Upload the unzipped files as follows:

• the content from `admin` folder to /administrator/components/com_wisroyq directory
• the file `wisroyq.XML` to /administrator/components/com_wisroyq directory
• the content from `front` folder to /components/com_wisroyq directory

Step 4:

Enter the backend administration of the site and click on Joomla's main menu link

    Components >> WISro Yahoo Quotes
(the main option of the menu, NOT the submenu items).
    The new version will update the tables structure and existing data and settings will be adjusted accordingly.

Step 5:

Update any existing menu links from the component's default layout to match the new default layout.

Step 6:

Put the site back online
